International Car Operators ordered a mobile crane from German manufacturer Liebherr. The crane will have a lifting capacity of 154 tonnes. Remarkably, the machine will operate on green electricity from the terminal's own wind turbines.

This mobile heavy-lift crane will be delivered to Zeebrugge in the fourth quarter of 2021. 11 brand new wind turbines, which are operational on the ICO Terminal since March 2021, will power the crane in a sustainable way.

The crane is ideal for handling heavy industrial pieces, as well as all other packages, general cargo and containers. This unique machine strengthens ICO’s position in the market for conventional heavy breakbulk and project cargo. At the same time, it provides us with an answer to the new trend that ro-ro operators are carrying more and more heavy loads.
